The project is located in Bexhill-on-Sea, a town on the south coast of England. HTA Landscape undertook a regeneration of the Promenade and the surroundings of an iconic early modernist building, the De La Warr Pavilion, completing in 2012, with Noel as planting consultant.
A significant challenge of this project was the coastal location, with severe wind and salt spray. Noel consulted another horticulturalist, who had successfully established planting schemes in similar locations, as well as surveyed what was growing in front gardens in the neighbourhood.
The planting consists predominantly of low-growing shrubs intermingled with perennials.
